motobikes!

Tara and Beverly! Just met Beverly Parker. We both had Bro. Moises Piura as out Spanish instructor... again SMALL WORLD

My 3rd day

walking to the territory

malnourished dog

Tori with our territory map

my first meal nothing too great but it was delicious

Wow Service was great! Nothing but walking. I'm paranoid of crossing the streets. Motorbikes are everywhere and i need to hop on one to get rid of my fears... apparently when you ride one the name is changed to motoconchos. We walked about 30 minutes to the territory, just me and Tori. We are doing what is called Indexing. From what I understood Indexing is when we map out the territory, basically like censusing to me. The scenery is gorgeous. Unfortunately the living conditions are not. All the dogs here look starving. its sad. We spoke to one person today. Thats all. But stay tuned for some good stuff to come. :)

-Missing AC right about now.
This is the filtered water. we have to pump it. lol

Cooking my first meal. Dont worry mom, i only wore these shorts in the house.
Im on the 2nd floor

Day 2

My first day flew on by. I mostly tried my best to get some rest. The rest of the day was spent Changing out US dollars for pesos. Shopping around Jarabacoa for household items...soaps shampoos, towels, cups. A couple of the girls who moved into empty apartments bought beds...so cheap.

Things i need to get used to:
-muggy, hotness during the day!
-walking up and down hills(soar)
-the currency here

Highlights of the day:
-Waking up looking out the window(my first look since daylight) and seeing the city with all the mountains in the back ground. it was breathtaking!
-The drive in the taxi cab...i was so scared! Praying the whole time. Adventure indeed.
